Here it goes - 100 things about me!
1. Born in Lynwood, California - August 29th 1954
2. The 3 child of 4 siblings - 2 sisters, 1 brother! Do I have the middle child syndrome? Don't know - I could - ask one of my siblings
3. I had very white hair then - and do now - if I was to not have it colored.
4. From the age of 5 I grew up in West Covina, CA
5. My name given at birth was - Kathleen Marie
6. Name I was blessed with was Lori Lee
7. My siblings use to tease me and tell me I was adopted. I would hide under the old secretary (that my mom still owns) and cry and cry and tell them I was not adopted - maybe I do have the adopted middle child syndrome.
8. I was the only girl my age in our neighborhood. I was a tomboy - a feminine one!
9. I played softball on a city league in middle school
10. I would have made a good pitcher (fast ball underhand) but I didn't have a lot of confidence since I had braces, was so blond - even my eyelashes and eyebrows which you couldn't see very well. I was a gawky (Sp?) young girl
11. I had a crush on Mr. Keck in Jr. High. His nickname for me was 'Red' since I would turn red if he even said 'hi' to me.
12. I hiked to Mt. Whitney when I was thirteen - it came about because I asked our scoutmaster if he would take me since the scouts always got to do great hiking trips. He took me, two of my girlfriends, his wife and son,. We made it to the very top - by the way it is the highest mountain in the continental US.

13. Was a pretty good bodysurfer (if I say so myself!) Not sure what would happen today at 53!!!
14. I learned how to swim before 5 - never having a swim lesson or class until I got to BYU
15. Asked for a unicycle for Christmas one year - taught myself how to ride it
16. I also took cello lessons
17. Took piano lessons but mom made me quit when I didn't want to practice - should have made me do it anyway! I would love to know how to play the piano besides picking at it. Maybe someday before I die I will take lessons again and stick it out this time (I better hurry as time is marching on - just need to find or make the time)
18. I was a Songleader in Jr High
19. Tried out for Cheerleader in High School and when I got up to do my routine I totally forgot it. I started my routine over and somehow made it through it making up the routine as I went - I was just so nervous I couldn't remember what I had practiced and practiced
20. Amazing - I made the first cuts - but did not make the finals - boo! hoo! oh, well!
21. I remember when I was sixteen in Calif. having an early morning earthquake. I thought my dad was at the end of my bed shaking my bed with his foot to wake me up for seminary. (I had overslept) It sounded like bowling balls over my head, and the wires were sparking when I lifted my head up and looked out the window. There were more kids at seminary that morning than ever before!
22.I worked at Marie Callender's in high school.
23. I started out making fresh fruit pies when I was fifteen
24. I became a waitress right after I turned sixteen - worked there my Jr and Sr years in high school.
25. Went to Ricks College half a year
26. Came home and worked for Home Savings and Loan Bank as a new accounts rep
27. Was engaged once before (Andrew) - not a fun experience to go through
28. The guy I was engaged to lives two houses away from my current counselor in RS - found this out in a humorous way - want more details give me a call!
29. Went to BYU ....
30. Worked on campus at Veterans Affairs office.
31. After my first year at BYU I decided to stay in Provo and work
32. I started working for .... you guessed it .... Marie Callender's
33. Met Andrew in our combined summer branches (not called wards back then) in the spring of 1974
34. We were married August 3, 1974 in the Los Angeles Temple
35. We moved immediately to Massachusetts (right spelling - I think!)
36. We lived in Montgomery, Alabama for 3 months - SOS (Squadron Officer School)
37. We lived in Utah (4 1/2 years) then ...
38. lived in Illinois (3 1/2 years)...
39. then moved back to Utah
40. Lived in Utah now for 23 years almost.
41. I have 5 wonderful children (my triple stuffed oreo cookie - a girl - 3 boys - a girl!)
42. I have had all 5 kids natural - no epedural.
43. I got really sick after Amy was born
44. I was in the hospital for 6 days - 4 of which were on an ice blanket) My temp got up over 105 degrees
45. The Dr's never really knew why - a friend of mine died two weeks later of the same thing after giving birth to her little baby - having let her fever get too high before going to the hospital
46. I was truly blessed through the priesthood - Andrew at the time having not yet found out I was really really sick - he had gone to the temple and placed my name on the prayer roll.
47. Andrew was not with me - my mom was - as I got sick just after he left for Utah
48. I have 4 soon to be 5 wonderful daughter and son-in-laws!!!
49. I have 6 beautiful, darling, wonderful, adorable, cute grandkids!
50. Did I mention I have 6 beautiful, wonderful, adorable, cute grandkids .... that I love with all my heart!!!!
51. Did I mention I love being a grandma!!!!!
52. I was a volunteer for the 2002 winter Olympics
53. I was assigned to the Utah Olympic Park Venue in Park City at the Bobsleigh, Luge, Skeleton, Nordic Combined, and Ski jump events
54. I gave birth to a kidney stone during my two days off during the Olympics
55. Would rather have had a baby - less painful!! That means I would have 6 kids instead of 5. 5 is GOOD! Since there was no nine months of being pregnant!
56. I have a great husband whom I love very much!!! (even if we have been married almost 34 long boring years! It's joke . . . )
57. I love dark chocolate ....
58. I love caramel ....
59. I love toffee pieces ....
60. I love the combination of dark chocolate, caramel and toffee pieces. I love - I really love the Ritter Sport Peppermint Dark Chocolate. Actually I think I am addicted. You can only find them Germany. (McK can you being me some more?!)
61. OK, milk chocolate is good too, but much prefer dark.
62. I have had the privilege (with Andrew, of course) of picking up all three of our sons from their missions
63. I have traveled to Venezuela... (Evan's mission)
64. France, Switzerland and Monaco (Taylor's mission)
65. Poland, East Germany, and Chezck Republic (Kendall's mission)
66. I have been to Frankfurt, Germany twice (once by myself, once with Andrew) Plan on traveling there a lot more!
67. I have been to Canada lots of times - helps to have family living there
68. I have been to China - a wonderful trip with Janet, Peri, and Sherri ....)
69. Did not care for authentic Chinese food, meaning - Chinese food made in China .... yuk!
70. I prefer American Chinese food .... took me months after the China trip to even want to eat any (even) American Chinese food!
71. I love Mexican food
72. I enjoy cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, crafts, photography. Doesn't mean I get to do much of any of it lately. I'd love to decorate - just not much money to do it though
73. I hate weeds -(if I ever become a Goddess/Celestial Kingdom creating my own world(s) . . . 'cursing the ground for your sake' . . . if I have my way this will be reconsidered. Gardening (with weeds) is not my favorite thing to do.
74. Yet, I love to have a pretty yard with pretty greens, flowers, trees, etc.
75. I would love to hire a Gardner . . . probably not going to happen
76. I would love to have new carpet, flooring, a fence, a shed . . . not sure when that will ever happen - hoping soon! I've been hoping for that for a long time!! Oh well, maybe when we have no weddings or other expenses
77. I hate shopping for bras - I hate shopping for bras - I hate shopping for bras.
78. I just did this two days ago - I hate shopping for bras!!!!!
79. I must have tried on 50 - left them all for the store clerk to put back on the hangers. Felt a little guilty so I went to another area of the store to find another clerk to purchase the two bras I finally decided to get.
80. Have I mentioned I hate bra shopping?! Clothes shopping would even be more fun if I'd ever stay the same size! Oh, I do big or biggger! (could it be the Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bars?!)
81. On to more cheerful things - I love the movie 'While You Were Sleeping!' A Christmas tradition - watch it every year! Collect Christmas books!!
82. Love the 'Sound of Music' other musicals, spy, suspense, fun, just all sorts of kinds of movies as long as they are good. Not a fan of slap stick humor movies.
83. I was Maria from the 'Sound of Music' in my 8th Grade school play. I sang a solo
84. I enjoy good music - Josh Groban to name one - love his voice!
85. Andrew took me to his concert last August for my birthday! It was so good! Been to Blue Man Group.
86. I am not a screamer at concerts - never have been - but I do swoon! I do oooh and aaah (more inside) though, especially at the Josh Groban concert! It was recorded live. Buy the AWAKE Live DVD! We were there.
87. I've been a PTA member for at least 27 years.
88. The last 10-11 years have been on Region/State level - Associate Director/Director for the last 7 years.
89. This is my last year in PTA. I still may help with State Convention - been an on-site coordinator for the last 10 years.
90. I enjoy reading certain kinds of good church books, scriptures, but, I loved the Harry Potter series for fun reading. I enjoy John Grisham books, and - golly I haven't read a good pleasure readking book for so long . . .
91. Andrew and I enjoy watching Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Closer
92. I love game shows - Price is Right, but, especially word game shows.
93. I enjoy crossword puzzles - especially when flying on long trips
94. I have decided I like word games, puzzles, etc. because I really don't feel I have a good ability in words, expressing my feelings through words - I'd like to be better at it
95. I like to be organized - have a fettish about being organized - problem is I will most likely never be as organized as I would like to be
96. Feel I am not a very patient person - I have had to learn to be patient - still learning to be patient - but would like to be more patient
97. As I said above I don't enjoy yard work (yet, love a great looking yard) - decided I don't like housework either (but I do like a clean house) - don't like to do laundry either (but I do like clean clothes) - don't like loading or unloading (like Amy particularly unloading - but I love clean dishes)
98. Could be I have been doing the above for years!!! Would rather do other things with my time ( I don't call it free time - because I don't have free time lately) What is free time by the way?!!
99. I love where I am at - at this stage and time in my life because I love my hubby, my kids and kids-in-laws, (I LOVE MY FAMILY) and have I mentioned at all that I love . . . .
100. BEING A GRANDMA!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, this was fun - not too hard thinking of 100 things - could it be because I have almost 53 years behind me?! Speaking of behind . . . I am now behind in doing my yard, house, laundry, dish . . . work!!! Oh, Well!!! I was BEHIND when I started this 100 things about me blog.

You have to tell me the story about your x-fiance living so close by. Sounds a bit scandalous! I'm so glad you did this. I learned a lot about you! And just for the record I think you're one of the most patient people I know!!! Love you auntie!

Agreed. You are patient. I think it just gets worn, due to the lack of free time. How bout another vacation to Germany this time spent with me in a relaxing spa. ;)
And I can't believe you need more ritter sports! Didn't I just bring a whole bunch. Maybe out of dicipline purposes I will refrain from bringing so many. How bout one bar a trip.
...I'm only kidding (I can hear the wimpering from your tears now), I'll be sure to put those on my list.
